A Few Words About Insurance

All renters are liable for the first $5000 in aircraft damage, with the exception of routine maintenance items. While aircraft damage is rare, you should plan accordingly.

It is standard that all private pilots carry their own non-owners insurance to cover the $5000 damage liability. If you do not have non-owners/renters insurance, you must substantiate your financial ability to cover the damage liability.

No insurance is required when flying with one of our flight instructors. However, when renting an aircraft for solo flight or as the PIC it is highly recommended you carry pilot insurance that will cover the damage liability on the rental aircraft, and personal liability. A standard pilot policy from aviation insurers (e.g. AVEMCO) is readily available and cost effective.
